JUMORE Reviews: China to push key technologies R&D plan for 2018

The National Key Technologies R&D Program of China has encompassed 26 special projects with 375 sub-items for the applications in 2018, involving high-tech research, agricultural sci-tech and fundamental research, with a total fund support of 8.9 billion yuan, according to the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST). Among them, new energy vehicles and laser additive manufacturing are prioritized with the most fund. In addition, investment in high-tech research has been turned to focus on other emerging fields, with that in the areas of rail transit, high-performance, etc slowing down.

JUMORE Reviews:

The selected projects for the national key technologies R&D program in 2018 demonstrate to a certain extent the country's emphases for the future growth — to strongly promote the development of high-end manufacturing and green industries. With the deepening reform of national science and technology management system, laser manufacturing, cloud computing and big data, new energy vehicles, etc are expected to see more capital input and a significant progress.
